AviClear by Cutera: A Safer Alternative to Accutane®

Acne has long been a bothersome, costly and embarrassing ailment for people around the world. Creams and medications such as Accutane can be very expensive, tedious, and may or may not lead to effective results. Medications may also need to be used continuously for long periods and can be a burden.

Accutane is a drug prescribed to more than 1 million people in the United States each year. Despite Accutane’s popularity, it's known to have a large number of side effects, many of them severe. The drug has been known to cause birth defects, depression, psychosis, seizures, bone degradation, heart attacks, strokes and more. Sometimes these side effects were not reversible. The drug’s original manufacturer received so many lawsuits that it discontinued the drug in 2009, but generic versions are still available to this day under the name isotretinoin.

Consistent with our dedication to providing the most effective treatments with the fewest side effects, we are the first and most experienced Wisconsin medical practice to offer AviClear by Cutera, the first FDA-cleared laser treatment for mild to severe acne. The results are comparable if not better than Accutane. All that’s needed are three 45-minute treatments spaced one month apart. There is no downtime. Results are noticeable quickly and improve further with time. The key to its effectiveness lies in the process of reducing the overactive sebaceous glands responsible for oil production and blocking pores. In clinical studies, 91% of patients responded to treatment and 80% saw at least half of their acne clear. So instead of eliminating the acne you have, AviClear helps to eliminate the possibility of acne production at its source. Other treatments often fail to provide lasting improvement, and acne returns with discontinuation. Finally, there is an effective, safe and life-changing way to treat acne long-term!

AviClear Treatment

Acne occurs when sebum and dead skin cells clog pores. While most treatments target secondary causes, AviClear directly inhibits sebaceous glands to reduce sebum production and treats acne at the source. Aviclear utilizes advanced laser technology to selectively target and suppress sebaceous glands, eliminating acne underneath the skin without the need for prescription medications.

Purpose Targets and reduces the hyperactive sebaceous glands that overproduce and cause acne
